Betta Care - Terms of Use

Welcome to Betta Care! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Betta Care mobile application (the “App”) provided by Lahiru Amarasooriya (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the App

Betta Care is a tool designed to help users track and manage care routines for their betta fish. You may use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

2. Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your device’s app store and renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You may manage your subscription in your app store settings.

3. Local Data Storage

All data you enter in the App (including fish information, photos, care logs, and reminders) is stored locally on your device using SQLite. We never collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers. The App includes features to:

Create and restore local backups
Export data to shareable files
Import data from exported files
Reset the database when needed

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Managing your own data backups using the App’s backup and export features
Ensuring you export or backup important data before deleting the App
Keeping your device secure to protect your data

5. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, and features in the App are owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable laws.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for violating these Terms.

7. Disclaimers

This App is intended for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of care recommendations.

8. Data Loss

Since data is stored locally on your device, we are not responsible for any data loss resulting from:

Device damage or loss
App deletion without first exporting data
Database resets initiated by you
Operating system updates or device changes

We strongly recommend using the App’s backup and export features regularly.
